Don Thayer, Senior Pastor

Don Thayer has been serving as Senior Pastor of Salida First Baptist Church since August 2010.   Pastor Don received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago Illinois.  Prior to serving at SFBC, Don was an Associate Pastor for 13 years in Central Point Oregon.   Pastor Don enjoys golfing, fishing with his kids and vacationing with his family.

Don and his wife Susan were married in October 1992.  Susan grew up in Richland, Washington.   Susan is involved in a variety of ministries at SFBC and stays busy as a mommy of four kids. Susan enjoys reading, shopping and entertaining.

George Hill, Associate Pastor

George Hill has been serving Salida First Baptist Church since May of 1998, first as the Youth Pastor and now as the Associate Pastor. George received his Camp, Recreation, and Youth Ministries degree from Judson Baptist College in Portland, Oregon and is currently working on his Masters degree in Counseling from Adams State College. George enjoys doing anything with his family, follows the Colorado Rockies and has recently taken up disc golf.

George and his wife Sheri were married in January of 1988. Sheri loves to do many things but her favorite is to look after her two boys, Tyler and Josh. Tyler is a Sophomore at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs where he is studying Special Education and is very active in The Navigators campus ministry program. Josh is a Senior at Salida High School and is a very accomplished musician and is looking forward to studying music in college.

Judy Dobson, Office Manager

Judy Dobson has been a member at Salida First Baptist since 1987 and serving as part-time secretary since 1996. Her husband, Ron, is employed by the State of Colorado as a wildlife officer. They have three grown sons who grew up attending SFB. Judy enjoys hiking, biking, reading and spending time with her family. She currently serves in women’s ministries and she and husband, Ron, serve in the Empty Nesters ministry.
